60 Day Covert Operation Shuts Down Nursing Home For Serious Violations

A nursing home went under secret surveillance for 60 days after showing reason for concern. The state health department working with an ombudsman documented care issues and violations to the degree that the facility was ordered to shut down. The violations included diet, administration, quality of life, and behavior, among other issues.

“The team began planning and researching the needs of individuals residing in the facility in mid-November, which was approximately 60 days prior to a possible decertification action,” said a media representative for the state Department of Health. For more, read the story.
