Abuse Complaints Ignored By Nursing Home Administrators

A nursing home employee has come forward after footage of abuse was released saying that her frequent reports of potential abuse were ignored by the Administrator. The nurse said that she reported issues including scratches and bruises. The nurse's aide, who did not want to be identified because she fears punishment by her bosses, said that the bosses did not want to hear her reports.

A facility representative has said the facility has no record of any employee coming forward with these complaints. The employee came forward after the release of a number of videos captured by hidden camera installed by the son of a resident,  to prove she was being mistreated. The footage has prompted both criminal and regulatory investigations.

In the video, an employee can be seen on the video striking the patient's face, violently throwing the patient into her bed and wheelchair, and pushing the patient's face into the wall. For more, read the story.
