Actor Ed Asner Unveils New DVD Documentary on Elder Abuse
Actor Ed Asner stars in a new DVD documentary Saving
Our Parents about elder abuse. The documentary is designed to help protect and educate the public, seniors and their
adult children about safe and healthy aging. The film won the National Mature Media Award and features information and
insights from radio host/author Michael Reagan (adopted son of late
President Ronald Reagan), LAPD Chief William Bratton, Los Angeles
Director of Public Health, Dr. Jonathan Fielding and other experts.
Based on their own harrowing experience, the executive producers of the film seek to inspire and empower families to care
for their loved ones in their golden years and have made Saving
Our Parents available for families, health care professionals,
caregivers, hospital staff and government agencies worldwide.
According to one expert in the film, “one elderly person is victimized every 2.7
minutes.” Featuring real-life events, Saving Our Parents
is a startling demonstration of the potential pitfalls facing today's
aging adults. For more, read the story.
