Adult Care Home Owners Steal from Resident

Two owners of an adult care center allegedly have taken money from an elderly resident that they were taken care of at the time. Adult Protective Services (APS) notified the Sheriff’s Department when APS was informed by the victim’s family that changes had taken place regarding her financial records.

According to documents, the owner had exploited the victim by changing her will, putting their names on the victim’s accounts and stealing money to take a trip and build an addition to their home. The victim denies giving authority to the owners to make any changes.

The owners were arrested and face multiple charges including fraudulent schemes, in addition to actions applied against their adult care home license. The victim has since been relocated to another facility. For more, read the story.
