Assisted Living Facility Aide Arrested For Stealing Medication and Personal Items

Police arrested a nurse assistant yesterday at an assisted living center for theft and elder abuse. The woman is accused of stealing medication and personal belongings from residents. According to police, facility residents and the administration contacted them to report that medication and personal belongings, such as jewelry and money, seemed to be missing from residents rooms.

Video surveillance was used to gather  enough evidence to charge the employee. The 22-year-old employee was then arrested and charged with two counts of theft by unlawful taking, three counts of theft of controlled substances and one count of abuse or neglect of an adult by a caretaker. The incidents are believed to have begun in December 2012. For more, read the story.
