Assisted Living Facility Employee Arrested For Stealing and Using Residents' ATM Cards

A 37-year-old assisted living facility employee has been arrested on allegations of theft of nearly $9,000 from the residents. The woman was employed as house manager at a facility that provides assisted living for men with developmental disabilities.

According to police, the employee accessed a safe at the home and took ATM cards belonging to the residents. For a period of three years, she reportedly used the cards to withdraw money from residents' bank accounts. The theft was discovered by another employee who noticed discrepancies in the residents' checking accounts. The woman has been charged with felony financial exploitation of a disabled person.
