Assisted Living Facility Shut Down Following State Order

Residents and employees have cleared out of an assisted living facility ordered to shut down by state officials. The operator said she complied with a state order to close down her business. The facility, closed down May 31, had been been given a state order to shut down by April 12.

The owner admitted she should have had her doors closed earlier, but said she was hoping to retain some residents for a prospective buyer of the facility.The granddaughter of a resident moved from the facility said that families were not given much time to find other arrangements.
