Assisted Living Facility Sued When Resident Dies

An assisted living center is being sued for negligence in the death of an 85-year-old female resident. Five children of the deceased resident filed suit that their mother died from cold exposure in January, after she walked out of living facility with temperatures in the teens.

The plaintiff’s attorney says that the family hopes to learn more information about the circumstances in which the victim left the building.

The facility owner did not make available any comments regarding the suit but says that their company works to protect residents’ safety. The lawsuit also did not specify the amount of damages involved.  For more, read the story.
