Assisted Living Resident Run Over By Police Car After Allowed to Wander Away

A 62-year-old resident of an assisted living facility died after he wandered away from the facility and was struck by a police cruiser at 5 a.m.

The man who had schizophrenia, dementia and near-blindness had previously wandered from the facility twice and was found about a mile away each time. The man's family is disappointed in how the facility did not better look out for his brother. The facility refused to comment. For more, read the story.
