Caregiver Arrested After Elderly Man's Suspicious Death

A woman was charged Wednesday with domestic assault and elder abuse after a man she shared a home with died. The 67-year-old man was malnourished and had numerous injuries, including fractured hands and feet, police say. Additionally, police said a homicide investigation is continuing as they await the city medical examiner’s ruling on the man's cause of death.

The elderly man was found in cardiac arrest in his home where the woman lived and cared for him. The woman admitted to striking the man on multiple occasions. Police say it appeared that the woman was his sole caretaker for at least the past several months. For more, read the story.
