Caregiver Arrested For Driving Elderly Client to Casino and Leaving Her in Car for Hours

A caregiver in Florida has been arrested for allegedly leaving an elderly woman in her care sitting in the woman’s car while she was in a casino. The caregiver is now in jail, charged with elderly neglect after a good samaritan found the 95-year-old woman waiting in her car alone on day so hot it broke records.

The elderly woman was taken to the hospital. Police charged the caregiver with a single count of neglecting an elderly disabled adult, and ordered her held on $1 thousand bond. A check of her background found an elderly exploitation incident in another county. The judge of the woman's bond hearing has already banned her from working with the elderly or as a health aide in the future. For more, read the story.
