Caretaker Arrested After Stealing Jewelry From Nursing Home Residents

Police have accused a woman of stealing jewelry from elderly patients at an assisted living facility. The 26-year-old woman turned her self in to police earlier this week after police accused her of the crimes. The woman had been hired as a private caretaker by the family of an elderly assisted living facility resident.

According to police, while at the facility, the woman stole from the client she was hired to care for and another patient at the facility. Police say she had stolen two sets of gold hoop earrings, a gold necklace, and a diamond ring that were altogether worth $4,500 from the elderly victims.

Police discovered that the woman had sold the jewelry to two different gold buyers. At least one of the buyers has returned the jewelry to the elderly victim. Police were originally contacted by one of the victims who was able to identify a photo of the caretaker. For more, read the story.
