Cargiver in Jail After Police Find Elderly Woman Forced to Live in Filthy Conditions

Officials say a woman is behind bars after accusations that she abused an elderly person under her care. Police report that last week the 53-year-old caregiver was taken into custody following the investigation a vulnerable adult living with the woman. The investigation began last month after the elderly woman was transported to the hospital.

Investigators found that the woman lived in unsanitary conditions with feces and urine covered bedding and a cockroach-infested bedroom. In the past, Social Services had been by the home to check on the victim, but were denied entry by the caregiver. The caregiver is being held in jail on charges of abuse of a vulnerable adult and reckless endangerment. For more, read the story.
