Certified Nurse's Assistant Charged With Slapping 91-year-old Dementia Patient

A certified nursing assistant (CNA) working at a nursing home was arrested this weekend, after she allegedly slapped a 91-year-old patient with dementia. The woman is charged with abuse of the elderly which is a third-degree felony.

According to arrest records,  the CNA was working at the nursing home when the incident occurred just before 6 p.m. Saturday. A witness told police the she repeatedly struck the patient on her face with an open hand. The female victim was seen trying to protect herself, authorities said. the CNA was released just after posting $2,000 bail, records show. for more, read the story.
