Combative Nursing Home Resident Tased by Police After He Stabbed Employee

A nursing home resident was stunned with a taser this week after he reportedly used a ballpoint pen to stab a female employee in the chest.  Police were called to the facility early Wednesday morning to subdue a 79-year-old man who staff could not control. According to police, the resident was shouting that he wanted to kill everybody.

The elder man, who suffers from dementia, refused to put down the pen or talk to officers. The chief of police stated that the officers did all the could to calm down and disarm the man, but he remained too confrontational to be approached safely.

The man, had only been living at the nursing home for two days. Following the incident he was admitted to the hospital for further treatment. The female employee also sought medical treatment but her injuries were not serious. For more, read the story
