Criminal Background Checks Going Into Effect Per New State Law When Hiring Nursing Home Employees

One state that is cracking down on criminal hires in nursing homes is moving forward with implementation after ruling a new law into effect. The state is requiring criminal background checks for anyone working directly with patients in the nursing home.

There are a few remaining concerns, such as hiring international workers will not allow for background checks. Another concern is that if the criminal offense in relation to assault, battery, or robbery is greater than 7 years ago, the offender can still be hired. For more, read the story.
