Criminal Nursing Home Resident Arrested For Raping Fellow Resident

A nursing home resident was booked into jail this week after being charged with the rape of another resident. The 57-year-old suspect had an extensive criminal history extending for thirty years which included a charge of attempted murder and involuntary manslaughter. Police charged the man with forcing himself onto a female resident.

The nursing home has a troubled past. In August 2010, the facility was fined almost $4,000 for neglect of a resident who had a maggot infestation on a drainage tube and wound. The for-profit nursing home is owned by HCR Manor Care which operates 500 nursing homes and rehabilitation centers nationwide. For more, read the story
