Dementia Patient Wanders From Virginia Assisted Living Facility

A search for a missing dementia patient has ended after he was found safe. The man was a resident at a Newport News assisted living facility when he went missing last Wednesday. According to police, the 54-year-old man was last seen by staff at Hilton Plaza Assisted Living Facility around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Three-hours later, staff notified police that the man was missing.

Police and K-9 officers were unable to locate the man. However, he was later found safe about five miles away from the facility. A woman who had previously been the man's caretaker found him. For more, read the story
