Duaghter Sues Nursing Home After Discovery of Multiple Pressure Ulcers on Mother

The family of a former nursing home resident is suing the facility after they say the facility neglected to take care of their loved one. The woman who died four years ago, was admitted to the facility because her family could no longer care for her at home. One day at nursing home staff found her unresponsive, and she was admitted to the hospital.

During her hospital admission, a hospital nurse discovered multiple severe bedsores (also known as pressure ulcers, pressure sores, and decubitus ulcers) that the family have never been notified of.  Bandages were placed over open wounds the size of grapefruits and the sores were on many areas of the woman's body, including one on the back of her head. The lawsuit doesn't say how she died, but the family alleges her bed sores led to other health problems that contributed to her death. For more, read the story.
