Edlerly Man Drowns in Lake at Assisted Living Facility

According to Police, the body of an 83-year-old man was found in a lake adjacent to the assisted-living facility where he lived on Wednesday morning.

The elderly man was last seen at about 8 p.m. Tuesday, officials with the facility said. He was reported missing when he did not show up for breakfast Wednesday morning. At about 7 a.m. Wednesday, firefighters found the man's body in the lake.

Officials with the facility have said that the facility is an assisted-living facility and not a nursing home, so residents can come and go as they please. They said the man had lived there for several years, but they would not provide any further details. A spokesman for the Sheriff's Department said an autopsy will be conducted, but foul play is not suspected. For more, read the story.
