Elderly Woman Attacked and Robbed at Assisted Living Facility

Police are searching to the suspect after a 90-year-old woman  was attacked and robbed in an assisted living center.  The elderly victim said she thought she was going to be killed. The assisted living resident said she usually locks her front door every night. But when she went to bed Friday evening, she forgot.

She suddenly awoke and saw the silhouette of a man, hovering over her. "He just wouldn't go,” the woman said. “And he said, 'What I want is some money.'” The 90-year-old woman, who has cuts and bruises to her arms, described how the robber unplugged the phone, talked with her using explicit language and then climbed onto the bed on top of her, trying to smother her with a pillow.

The robber fled with two televisions and a computer. Surveillance video from a nearby apartment complex revealed that the same man attempted to break into that facility about an hour prior the elderly woman's robbery. Police are still searching for the man.  The victim said she decided to go public with her story, hoping her attacker is caught, so no one else will have to endure the terror she did.
