Elderly Woman Stabbed to Death at Long Term Care Facility

Police are investigating the holiday stabbing death of an 82-year-old woman at one long-term care home. The woman's 82-year-old husband is in custody. the facility has not commented on the incident, but early reports are that the woman was killed with a hunting knife.

Paramedics arrived on scene at 11:43 a.m. Monday after reports that two elderly persons had suffered injuries. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Paramedics stabilized the man and transported him to hospital. The suspects brother commented that the couple had a happy and loving marriage. He also explained that his brother did not suffer from dementia but that the victim was the one who had not been herself lately.  For more, read the story.
