Families Of Nursing Home Victims Of Neglect Abuse And Death Speak Out

Families are speaking out about a nursing home facility they believe has neglected their loved ones. The families have experienced abuse or neglect to the point of death. Family members lost their mother who was fully dependent on nursing staff to eat and care for herself. She had to use a call button when in need of help. However, her daughter noted multiple instances where the call button was out of reach. Her mother died alone without anyone present.

She wonders if it would have been different had she been able to call someone. “When you put someone in a nursing home, you’re thinking that they’re going to be taken care of, that their basic needs are going to be met. And a lot of times, they’re not.” For more, read the story.
