Family Reports More Allegations of Abuse at Nursing Home

The family of a nursing home resident is speaking out, stating that their 68-year-old relative had to be taken to the hospital due to injuries from alleged neglect. This just days after a criminal elder abuse investigation was launched against the facility.

The resident's daughter-in-law said she was speaking out because she wanted to paint a troubling picture of what’s really going on at the facility. The resident is now in a hospital with a fractured elbow and a separated shoulder. The family discovered the injuries when they saw bruising on the woman's arm. They called the resident's doctor, who advised the family to send her to the ER immediately.

The daughter-in-law says it took the nursing home two hours to finally call an ambulance. The cause of the woman's injuries is still unknown. The facility is also being investigated following an incident where a resident suffered deep cuts and bruises from being dropped from a mechanical lift. For more, read the story.
