Former Nursing Home Aide Found Guilty of Resident Abuse

A jury returned a guilty verdict last week in the case of a nursing home employee charged with patient abuse. The former nursing home aide was convicted on felony patient abuse after an incident with a patient.

The 31-year-old woman was working at the facility last February when she got into a fight with an elderly resident. The woman was convicted of throwing the patient to the ground and punching her in the head. The case was prosecuted by the health care fraud division of the attorney general's office. The woman will be sentenced next month. For more, read the story.
