Four Nursing Homes Each Fined $1,000 Or More For Negligence

Four nursing homes have each been fined $1,000 or more for incidents of neglect and/or abuse. The incidents include falls, cuts, bruises, neglect in regards to congestive heart failure, and rapid weight loss. Some homes are defending their actions indicating they will enforce care plans more diligently in the future, while others are refusing comments.

For the residents who have suffered from these incidents, the damage has already been done, hence the fines.  The issue is that although there were safety precautions and care plans in place, they were not enacted. For more, read the story.
