Hidden Camera Reveals Patient Abuse at Long-Term-Care Facility

The son of an 85-year-old nursing home patient is demanding answers after a camera he placed in his mother's room revealed neglect and abuse. Last August, the man's mother had an unexplained black eye and scratches on her. This January, she broke her hip, which the son says was caused by another resident who pushed her down. Following these incidents, the family installed a camera in the woman's room.

The footage caught on the hidden camera reveals wandering residents entering the patient's room, care workers putting feces near the woman's face, handling her aggressively, and using the woman's bed sheets to blow their nose. Following the release of the video, two employees were suspended without pay and the facility is being investigated. For more, read the story.
