Home Caregivers Arrested For Violent Abuse of Autistic Patient

A mother is devastated after hidden camera footage revealed that her disabled adult son was being physically abused by caregivers. The footage showed the hired caregivers kick and punch the patient, stomp on his face, spit on him, whip him with a chain, and threaten and possibly shoot him with a pellet gun.

The 31-year-old victim suffers from autism. His mother says he is unable to speak and has the IQ of a three-year-old child. When his parents began struggling to care for him on their own, they sought assistance from a home healthcare provider. The caregivers were employed to stay with the man 24-hours a day. After some time, the man's mother began noticing bruises on her son's body and a change in his overall attitude. These suspicions prompted her to install a hidden camera system which ultimately revealed the troubling abuse.

The company which provided the caregivers has refused to comment on the allegations. The two employees captured on tape have been arrested on felony abuse charges. For more, read the story.
