Hospital Patient Dead After Falling Out Window

A 76-year-old hospital patient with dementia fell from the window and died recently. He was a known wanderer and had gone missing twice within the last year.

A police spokeswoman said officers received a 911 call about a man who had fallen from a second-story window at the hospital. A passerby told police the man was hanging out of the window.

“That man, who was a patient at the hospital, later died so police are now assisting the medical examiner’s office with an investigation into the cause of that death,” she said.

The hospital is conducting an internal review but did not explain what happened, only saying an “unplanned and unfortunate experience” had taken place. For more, read the story.
