Housekeeper Arrested for Stealing from Elderly Client

An elder woman has been victimized by a woman she hired to be her housekeeper and personal trainer two and a half years ago, sheriff's deputies said. The housekeeper allegedly stole the woman's checkbook from her home and wrote approximately 15 checks, totaling about $6,000.

According to police, the victim realized her funds were being siphoned off when she discovered a check missing and confronted the housekeeper, who admitted to the thefts. The housekeeper then convinced the woman not to contact police for several months. She persuaded the woman not to take action by promising to repay the money. However, the victim reported the theft in early February, and the suspect was arrested. For more, read the story.
