Jury Awards $1.5 Million For Nursing Home Wrongful Death

A jury awarded $1.5 million in a wrongful death lawsuit. A nursing home caregiver gave a high dose of morphine to the wrong patient, who died just three days later. The nurse did not check the identification of the patient before administering the drug. She assumed he was the right person.

She gave the medication to a 94-year-old male patient suffering from dementia and respiratory issues. This case brings attention to the fact that there is a rise in medication dispensing errors. For more, read the story.
