Lawsuit Filed Against Nursing Home For Abuse Of Patient

A lawsuit has been filed on behalf of a nursing home patient who is a ward of the state. The filing comes after multiple investigations led to the charging of three nursing home employees for neglect and abuse of patients. The complaint for the plaintiff reads “While in the care of [the nursing home], and as a direct result of the negligence, wantonness and/or neglect and abuse of the defendants, their owners, agents, servants and/or employees, [the patient] was subject to physical and mental abuse causing injury, pain, suffering, extreme anguish and distress”.

The patient incurred injuries at the facility under the care of the workers who have now been charged. The injuries included black eyes and bruising on the face, arms, neck, and back. The plaintiff’s attorney had this to add, “The state police, the Office of Inspector General and Adult Protective Services have all conducted an investigation. And we believe we will find out additional information once the reports of those three agencies are released.”For more, read the story.
