Licensed Caregiver Arrested On Charge Of Raping Elderly Resident in Healthcare Facility

A licensed caretaker is in custody on suspicion of raping an elderly woman at a residential health-care facility.

The woman, who is in her 80’s, told authorities on Wednesday that she had been raped Friday night, said the sheriff’s department.

He described the care home as a “small facility” and would not give its location.

The suspect, 50, has been employed at the home for six months and is a state licensed caretaker.

The woman was not injured but remains traumatized, one official said. “It was a very traumatic event and there is a lot of embarrassment and emotions,” he said. For more, read the story.
