Man Steals from Assisted-Living Facility

According to authorities a man turned himself in to police relating to charges of a string of theft at an Assisted Living Facility where he worked. The man committed the thefts over a 14 week period.

The state department of social services provides licensing for the facility and potential employees undergo criminal backgrounds checks. There may be more victims of the theft that have not been identified yet.

A total of about 380 residents were housed at the facility in apartments and cottages. It isn’t clear how the man gained access to the resident’s rooms, but he was able to steal jewelry, tooth fillings and personal items. Some of the stolen items have been recovered by investigators.  For more, read the story.
