Missing Dementia Patient Found Dead in River After Leaving Nursing Home

According to police, the body of a missing nursing home resident was found last week in a river.  The man, 88, had been missing for three weeks. The body was discovered by friend of another missing man who vanished after a Christmas party. This second man is still missing.

County officials are questioning the facility about how the man, who has dementia, was able to walk out. The man was last seen in early December and was reported missing by the facility. Police conducted a thorough initial search, but he remained missing until last week. The man had gone missing once in 2011 as well.  The facility refused to comment regarding the incident.
