Nurse Charged With Neglect After Failing to Respond to Patient Experiencing Cardiac Arrest
A registered nurse has been arrested in connection with the recent death of an elderly nursing home resident. The 54-year-old nurse, was arrested and charged with neglect of a vulnerable adult, according to court documents. The arrest was the result of an ongoing police investigation into the death of a 76-year-old nursing home patient at the facility.
The patient's roommate and another nursing home employee told police they informed the nurse that the victim was having chest pains and needed assistance but she did nothing to help. A short time later, the patient died from cardiac arrest. The nurse was released on $25,000 bond. According to police the investigation is still ongoing. For more, read the story.
