Nurse Purposely Withheld Medication from Nursing Home Resident for 45 Days

A nurse at a nursing home is accused of purposely withholding prescribed medications from an 83-year-old resident. Prosecutors have charged the 46-year-old nurse with criminal neglect of an elderly person.

A spokeswoman for the prosecutor's office has stated that the nurse was working at the nursing home when she withheld the medications from a patient for 45 days in January and February. The resident required hospitalization for a time but returned to the nursing home, where he later died. However, the withholding of the medication has not been connected to the resident's death at this time. For more, read the story.
