Nurse's Aide Arrested After Slapping 98-Year-Old Woman in The Face

A nurse's aide has been charged with elder abuse after police say she slapped a 98-year-old resident with the back of her hand at the nursing home where she worked. The victim was hit with enough force to cause substantial bruising.

The woman faces a charge of third-degree elderly abuse after the incident which happened last month. The resident told other staff at the facility that someone had slapped her. Police identified the woman as a suspect. In police questioning, she admitted to hitting the woman. She told police she slapped the victim across the right side of the face with the back of her right hand because she had lost her temper after the victim yelled at her, the statement said.
