Nursing Home Aides Caught Stealing Hydrocodone Intended For Residents

Two caretakers at a nursing home were indicted on charges of stealing pain medication from patients, according to that county's prosecutor’s office.

The two women are both accused of stealing Oxycodone from the nursing facility, according to a spokesman for the prosecutor’s office.

He said both women separately altered patient records so they could steal the addictive painkiller for their own use. He said that even though each was allegedly committing their crimes during the same time period between 2007 and 2009 and both were charged with the same crimes, there is no evidence that the women were acting together. He said the women were caught after the nursing home performed routine audits of their drug supplies. For more, read the story.
