Nursing Home Employee Arrested For Stealing Residents' Money and Jewelry

A woman was charged with stealing more than $5,000 worth of jewelry and cash from four residents of a nursing home where she worked. The 55-year-old nursing home employee allegedly stole jewelry from three residents and took $80 cash from a fourth resident in July and August.

The woman was arrested at the nursing home earlier this month on four counts each of theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. She was released from prison under $500 cash bail. According to police, the woman was hired at the home in June and each of the thefts occurred while she was working. Police said they also determined sold some of the jewelry to a nearby jeweler.
