Nursing Home Employee Charged With Stealing Pain Patches From Elderly Residents

Police have arrested a woman accused of removing pain patches from elderly residents at the nursing home where she was employed. According to court records, the 20-year-old employee removed powerful, narcotic pain patches from a bed-bound, non-verbal resident and another patient in the dementia care unit.

Police investigators were called to the facility after another employee noticed that the resident's pain patch had been removed. The roommate of the resident provided a description of the employee who has been charged. In addition to the charges at the nursing home, the woman has also been charged with theft of valuable coins from a nearby home. For more, read the story.
