Nursing Home Employees Embezzle Funds

A nursing home center nurse and manager were arrested and accused of embezzling thousands of dollars from clients to go on a shopping spree. The money was taken from a fund that is used to buy necessities for residents.

A nursing home resident noticed the items purchased and reported the suspicious purchases. In addition to authorities, the nursing home is required to contact the state, which will perform their own investigation of the allegations.

The employees purchased very expensive items for themselves without regard for the resident’s needs or their position as staff at the facility. Both former employees are expected to be charged with exploitation of the elderly. For more, read the story.
