Nursing Home Funding Covered By Medicare Projected to Reach 30% In 2022

Funding for nursing homes can be a challenge for most families. There are often questions as to what funding is available and how much it will cover. Recent studies show that 50% of men and 65% of women will need some type of nursing home care, meaning they will also need to know how to pay for it.

Medicare has increased in its offerings to nursing home patients. Medicare coverage of those in need of assistance paid out 19% in 2006 and is projected to rise to 30% in 2022. After 100 days Medicare is no longer available, and patients will need to rely on Medicaid to cover the costs of long-term care. For more, read the story.
