Nursing Home Investigated After Resident Found With Maggot Infested Sores on Both Feet

State and local agencies have begun investigating a nursing home after one of its residents was discovered with open sores and maggots on his feet. Police said the 67-year-old male resident was taken to the hospital recently for treatment of chest pains. Doctors called police after finding open sores and maggots on the man's feet.

The man told police he was being mistreated at the home. The State Department on Aging is now investigating the facility in connection with the man's care issues. Annual inspections by the Department on Aging indicate that the facility has been having issues for quite some time. The nursing home is licensed for 93 beds. For more, read the story.
