Nursing Home LPN Faces Felony For Failure To Report Fall

A licensed professional nurse (LPN) and nursing home worker is facing felony charges for failure to report a patient’s fall. The patient suffers from Alzheimer’s and dementia. The patient fell under the care of a certified nursing assistant (CNA).

When the LPN came in the room and saw the patient in the floor, she merely helped the CNA lift the patient into a chair. The nurse did not check the patient’s vital signs or report the fall. She made her own assessment that the patient was not injured, however, the patient was later determined to have sustained a hip fracture. For more, read the story.
