Nursing Home Patients Experience Abuse From Other Patients

One in five nursing home patients encounter patient to patient abuse according to a recent study that came out. The abuse can be categorized as physical or verbal. Patients have also experienced sexual assault and invasion of privacy among other types of mistreatment.

"The findings suggest that these altercations are widespread and common in everyday nursing home life. Despite the acute urgency of the problem, resident-to-resident mistreatment is under-reported.
