Nursing Home Rankings Cause Concern For Tri-Cities

The release of a national report ranking for nursing home quality care is still causing waves as individual counties review the report. One area of three counties is finding that they ranked low on the report, causing concern to the residents of that area. Numerous violations are noted over a three year span for just one home in the area, including 44 incidents of minimal harm and five incidents of actual harm.

"They look like numbers on paper but they are real people behind these numbers who have suffered pain needlessly, all of this stuff was preventable," said the preparer of the report. He also mentioned that they tried to contact nursing homes for more information about the incidents they noted, but three out of five homes would not respond. For more, read the story.
