Nursing Home Resident Brutally Murdered by His Roommate

Police have arrested an 81-year-old man on suspicion of murder for allegedly beating to death a 94-year-old man.The event occurred at a nursing home where the two men were roommates.

A spokesperson for the Sheriff's Department said the suspect allegedly took a bar used to hang clothes inside a closet, and used it to repeatedly strike his roommate. Detectives are still investigating a possible motive for the assault, which occurred at last Friday at the 99-bed residential facility. The Los Angeles Times reports that victim, who was found beaten around the head, was pronounced dead at at the hospital. fFor more, read the story.
