Nursing Home Resident Charged with Rape of A Fellow Resident

A nursing home resident has been charged with second-degree rape after he allegedly assaulted a fellow resident at the facility last week, according to District Court records. The man, 38-years-old, was being held in jail on $100,000 bond. He is also charged with second- and third-degree sex offense and second-degree assault, according to court records.

Police reported to the facility on Friday for a reported sex offense and talked to the facility’s nursing director. According to the nursing director, a technician came to the director and told her that he found the resident on top of the woman in her room, according to court records. The victim suffers from dementia. The director told police that the man had been at the facility for five days, so she didn’t know much about him or his history. For more, read the story.
