Nursing Home Resident Dies After Falling From Window

A 57-year-old man died after he fell while trying to climb out of the window of his nursing home. The man was using a rope made from bed sheets when he fell to his death.  The man was pronounced dead 10:30 a.m. Wednesday according to the medical examiner's office.

Staff at the facility found the makeshift rope hanging down the window around 5:16 a.m. They soon found the resident's body lying outside, according to police. An autopsy performed after his death determined that he suffered multiple injuries in the fall and that his death was an accident. How far the man fell is unknown. It wasn’t clear why the resident was trying to sneak out of the facility. According to facility's website, residents are allowed to leave the facility. For more, read the story.
